TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - Each year, students and staff at Bryan C. Jack Elementary School pause to honor the memory of an East Texas native killed in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

Flags flew at half-staff Friday as the campus observed a moment of silence and held its annual remembrance ceremony.

For the school's young students, the gathering served as both a tribute and a living history lesson about the man behind the name on their building."This program was a big meaning to our school," fifth grader Jack Philly said.
