MCGREGOR, Texas (KWTX) - The legacy of a beloved local youth baseball coach, Alberto "Coach Bert" Lopez, continues to live on, just days after his unexpected death, thanks to a former player who is honoring his memory by giving back to the next generation with a free haircut event.

Coach Alberto Lopez spent years teaching young athletes that success was not just measured on the baseball field, but in how they served others.

Now, Devon Patterson, one of the players Lopez helped shape, is making sure those lessons continue to reach young people-one haircut at a time."Every single player that has played for Alberto will tell you it was bigger than baseball," Patterson said.
