POLK COUNTY, Texas (KTRE) - A Polk County sheriff's deputy and another driver sustained minor injuries Saturday morning after a head-on collision on U.S. Highway 190 West, according to the sheriff's office.

According to the PCSO, a deputy was traveling eastbound in the 6900 block of U.S. Hwy 190 around 9 a.m. during routine patrol when a westbound vehicle crossed into the eastbound lane and the deputy's path.

The deputy swerved right to try to avoid the crash, but the other vehicle struck the driver's side of the deputy's patrol vehicle, the sheriff's office said.
