Comal County Commissioners approved the construction of field lighting, bleacher replacements and shade structures at Jumbo Evans Sports Park and Hidden Valley Sports Park to support the Bulverde Youth Soccer Association and Canyon Lake Youth Football on Sept. 24.

Initially, the court budgeted for the construction of two tennis courts at Jumbo Evans in the 2026 fiscal year, however, bids for both the court construction alone and the court construction with the addition of lighting came out above the budgeted amount, Purchasing Agent Jose Davila said.

The lowest bid came from Premier Courts at $469,134 for the construction of only the courts, exceeding the county's budget of $385,000.
