OCEANSIDE, New York -- A Long Beach woman who suffered a stroke in 2025 reunited Thursday with the doctors who treated her at Mount Sinai South Nassau Hospital, thanking the medical team she credits with saving her life.

Mia Amorosa collapsed on her bathroom floor in August 2025 after suffering a stroke that left her unable to move her arm or leg.

Her daughter found her about two hours later and called 911. "Minutes matter when you're having a stroke, and I can't imagine moving from one place to another for the treatment I needed, I believe it saved my life," Amorosa said.
