MIDLAND, Texas (KOSA) - Midland City Council has approved new oil well drilling within city limits, including in residential neighborhoods.

Council voted six-to-one to approve multiple drilling permits inside city limits and residential neighborhoods.

One of the sites, operated by Petroplex Energy, is located east of Lamesa Road and north of West Loop 250.
