Uvalde's school board directed administrators to improve employee training on Lightspeed Alert, an artificial intelligence-powered software that flags' concerning behavior, after a guardian filed a formal complaint.

Lightspeed Alert scans students' online activity, including emails and google searches, for signs of bullying, self harm, threats of violence and more.

Individuals can also anonymously report concerns using Lightspeed's STOPit program.
