HEWITT, Texas (KWTX) - Sirens echoed and a helicopter touched down Thursday afternoon as local law enforcement officers surprised students at Castleman Creek Elementary School for this year's Red Ribbon Week "SWARM" presentation.
The multi-agency event brought a parade of patrol vehicles, flashing lights, and specialized law enforcement units directly to campus grounds to engage with students and promote drug-free living.
Red Ribbon Week is a national campaign established in response to the 1985 murder of Drug Enforcement Administration Agent Enrique Camarena, aiming to educate youth on making positive choices and steering clear of drugs.
