RUSK, Texas (KTRE) - The Rusk Economic Development Corporation met Wednesday, one day after the city closed its public pool a month ahead of schedule due to financial constraints.

City officials said the 70-year-old pool costs nearly $500 a day to keep open because of a leak, and would cost between $1 million and $2 million to replace or rebuild.

Victoria Minton, the newly appointed interim city manager for Rusk, said financing a project of that scale is difficult for a city of Rusk's size.
