SAN PERLITA, Texas - A South Texas school district shut down classes for two days due to a growing number of COVID-19 cases.

The San Perlita Independent School District announced Monday it is suspending operations Tuesday and Wednesday as a precaution to curb the spread of the virus.

"Due to the rapid spread of COVID-19 within our district, all school operations will be suspended for two days as a precautionary measure to help protect the health and safety of our students, staff and families," the district said in a social media post.
