Construction began Tuesday on The Neue, a mixed-use development offering condominiums, office and retail space in downtown New Braunfels.

The four-story building will include five commercial spaces and 43 residential units, with amenities such as a resort-style pool, a fitness center, elevator access, a fitness room and reserved parking.

The development was designed by San Antonio-based architecture firm TBA Douglas, will be built by JCB Contractors and is being developed by Kendall and Lindsey Gillum of Gillum Development and Gary Seals of Seals Family Properties.
