HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) - A child death investigation is underway in the San Benito area.

The Cameron County Sheriff's Office confirmed Thursday that a child died and that an investigation is still active.

Sheriff Manuel Trevino called it "a very sensitive investigation." Officials did not release the child's age or the manner of death.
