The Hutto Hippos varsity football team defeated the Copperas Cove Bulldawgs 64-21 in their first meeting since 2023 on Friday, Sept. 11.

The visiting Hippos outscored the Bulldawgs 16-7 in the first quarter before silencing them 21-0 in the second quarter, bringing the score to 37-7 at halftime.

Copperas Cove regrouped and outscored the Hippos 14-13 in the third quarter but could not keep get through the Hutto defense and did not score for the remainder of the night.
