GUEST COMMENTARY | Rachel Westerman A powerful reminder on service, sacrifice and freedom As a Taylor Independent School District trustee, I was privileged to attend a special welcome ceremony at Taylor High School Oct. 27 honoring a group of South Korean exchange students from Daeyeong High School.

What I witnessed was a breathtaking and moving tribute to a man, a generation of American service members, and the enduring bond between two nations.

The Korean students honored Robert Witt, a veteran of the Korean War, through a video presentation expressing their gratitude to him and the United States military.
