CenterPoint Energy is investigating a cybersecurity incident involving the personal information of some of its customers, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

The company said it became aware of an online post in September claiming that a third party had obtained a dataset containing customer information.

CenterPoint activated its cybersecurity response protocols and launched an investigation with outside experts.
