HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A man was killed in a crash overnight after attempting to run across the East Freeway, according to Houston police.

The Houston Police Department said officers responded to the crash on IH-10 near Mercury Drive on Saturday evening, just before midnight.

Authorities said the pedestrian was hit by a vehicle in the eastbound lanes.
