The Fredericksburg-based LoneStar Heritage Foundation has announced the continued expansion of its LoneStar Heritage Trail program, an effort to connect Texas communities through place-based history, character education and heritage tourism.
The foundation recently expanded the trail into Mason County with six additional Heritage Story Signs, the latest step in its effort to build a regional network throughout the Texas Hill Country and beyond.
Unlike traditional historical markers that primarily present facts and dates, each LoneStar Heritage Story Sign shares stories at locations where historical events occurred while highlighting character traits demonstrated by the people involved.
