A firefighter was killed and two others were injured while battling a fire in central North Carolina, officials said.

The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation confirmed the Durham firefighter's death and the injuries in an Oct. 8 social media post.

A picture in the agency's post showed large flames coming from the roof of a building.
