As local students prepare to return to the classroom for the 2026-2027 school year, the New Braunfels Police Department is reminding drivers of several safety tips to keep in mind.

Students in the New Braunfels Independent School District return to class on Monday, Aug. 17, while students in the Comal Independent School District return on Tuesday, Aug. 25.

In the early morning and late afternoon each weekday, sidewalks and crosswalks will be filled with students making their way to and from school.
