TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - A federal judge has set a trial date for a former Rusk County deputy accused in a 2022 fatal shooting.

Shane Iverson, a former sergeant for the Rusk County Sheriff's Office, is now set for a civil rights trial before U.S. District Judge Jeremy D. Kernodle.

The trial is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. April 12, 2027, after a pretrial conference on March 31, 2027. The announcement came on Wednesday in a scheduling order by U.S. Magistrate Judge John D. Love.
