(KGNS) - Catholic Charities of Laredo and the Medical Missionaries of Divine Mercy are holding their 16th annual medical mission at San Luis Rey Church this week.

Professionals are offering free checkups, dental care, vision care and flu shots.

Organizers said cost keeps many people from seeing a doctor."It's really important that this community take advantage of it. Medical care is so expensive. And if you don't have insurance, you don't have a way to get some care, this is the time to do it," said Rebecca Solloa, executive director of Catholic Charities of Laredo.
