CAMERON, Texas (KWTX) - The owner of a Milam County animal rescue has been arrested on an animal cruelty charge, and the rescue is shutting down after surrendering more than 80 animals.

The Milam County Sheriff's Office says deputies served an arrest warrant Oct. 6 against 69-year-old Angela Sera on one count of cruelty to non-livestock animals, a Class A misdemeanor.

Sera is the owner and operator of Dogtown Ranch and Sanctuary outside Rockdale.
