BIG SPRING, Texas (KOSA) - The City of Big Spring's Russ McEwen Aquatic Center will close for the season on Aug. 1, with final operating hours from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The aquatic center, found at 911 Golf Course Road inside Comanche Trail Park, features a pool, lazy river, multiple slides and a splash pad.

Admission is $5 for guests ages 3 and older."With such hot weather, we know the public would love an extra week or two out here, but most of our staff are getting ready to go back to school," said Terri Telchik, community services facilities manager for the City of Big Spring.

"Aside from a few weather-related closures and a few unexpected repairs, we have had a really great season with thousands of guests who were able to come out and enjoy all that our facility has to offer."During the offseason, the facility will undergo scheduled repairs, updates and refurbishments as budgeted and needed.
