DIBOLL, Texas (KTRE) - A Diboll woman is accused of threatening to shoot a man and firing at his front door after previously telling officers she would kill him. [KTRE]

A 60-year-old Diboll resident faces two felony charges following an incident Thursday in which she allegedly brandished a firearm and discharged it twice at a residence on Ash Street, according to law enforcement documents.

Kathy Nadine Dixon showed up unannounced at the home to seek reconciliation with a man living there, initially sitting on the porch to express remorse for prior disagreements. The homeowner repeatedly demanded that Dixon leave his property. When she refused to comply and grew agitated, Dixon retrieved a handgun and announced her intention to shoot him, the arrest affidavit indicates.

Fearing for his safety, the man retreated indoors. Dixon then fired a single shot at the front door from outside. The man responded by hurling a baseball bat through the doorway and again ordering Dixon to depart. Dixon subsequently requested permission to retrieve her phone from the porch steps and fired a second round into the ground as she retrieved it. She then fled on foot and departed in a vehicle driven by someone else.

When questioned by detectives, Dixon acknowledged going to the residence to apologize but stated she became angered when the man began shouting at her to leave. She confessed to firing at the door and characterized the second discharge as unintentional. The affidavit notes that Dixon had previously informed officers she would "take matters into her own hands" and harm the resident if her demands went unmet.

Investigators recovered a handgun concealed within a feminine hygiene product package stored in a closet, which matched the weapon described by the victim. Dixon was arrested Friday and held in the Angelina County Jail. She faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and unlawful firearm possession, with bail set at $50,000.
