Man killed, woman critically injured in shooting in East Harris County, deputies say

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- A man is dead, and a woman is in critical condition after a shooting in East Harris County on Monday morning, the Harris County Sheriff's Office said. [ABC13 Eyewitness News]
A fatal shooting in unincorporated Harris County left one person dead and another hospitalized Monday morning, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies responded to the 5400 block of North Redell Road near Baytown at approximately 5:47 a.m. after receiving reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, officers discovered two adults with gunshot injuries at the scene. The male victim was pronounced dead at the location, while the female victim was airlifted by LifeFlight to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where she was listed in critical condition.
Crime scene investigators and homicide detectives converged on the area to process evidence and determine what led to the violent encounter. Aerial footage showed yellow crime tape cordoning off several mobile home units situated along the roadway. Evidence markers were also placed on a trailer and pickup truck found at the scene, according to authorities on the ground.
As of Monday, the specific circumstances that precipitated the shooting remained unclear. Investigators had not released information regarding potential motives or identified any suspects in connection with the incident.
The Sheriff's Office indicated the investigation was continuing and that additional details would be released as they become available.
