The Comal Independent School District board of trustees voted to call a $567 million November bond election during the August regular board meeting on Tuesday evening.

The proposed bond includes two propositions focused on addressing enrollment growth, safety and security, aging facilities, transportation and classroom technology.

The bond package's development was guided by Comal Forward, a community planning committee comprising more than 60 parents, taxpayers, retirees, business owners and other community members in the district, according to a CISD media release.
