LONGVIEW, Texas (KLTV) - Large, colorful paintings by Taos-based artist Gail Wendorf are on display at the Longview Museum of Fine Arts through Feb. 20, 2027.

The works depict her impressions of dancers inside Texas dance halls during her "Waltz Across Texas."Wendorf said a friend suggested in 1999 that she paint historic Texas dance halls.

She chose to focus on the people and activity inside rather than the buildings."The dancers, the action, the life inside the historic dance halls of Texas," Wendorf said.
