COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - College Station City Council gave unanimous support Wednesday night to drafting a safe passing ordinance, one members want to name "Hannah's Law," following emotional testimony from the family of a cyclist killed in a July crash.
The council also directed staff to bring back a plan combining height restrictions with financial incentives for property owners in the Northgate entertainment district and heard an update on resources for off-campus students.
Safe Passing OrdinanceThe proposed safe passing ordinance would require drivers to stay at least three feet away when passing cyclists, pedestrians, and other "vulnerable road users," and six feet for commercial vehicles.
