HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- Soaring diesel prices have Houston-area organizations looking for ways to move their fleets away from the costly fuel source.

The nationwide average for a gallon of diesel is $6. 52, less than a penny below its record high set on Tuesday.

Here in Houston, it hit a record high of $5. 89 on Wednesday.
