HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- A grand jury has declined to indict a former Harris County Precinct 7 sergeant accused of beating her adopted children with a belt.

Authorities say that Joceyln Ballard was immediately relieved of duty and placed on administrative leave back in February.

She was later fired after an investigation, according to law enforcement.
