Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District's Board of Trustees will select a lone finalist for the superintendent position on Aug. 27, filling the gap Ashley Chohlis left in April after her mid-year departure.

The trustees opened the position to internal applicants at their Aug. 17 meeting per state requirements.

After a board selects a finalist for the top position, the district is required to wait 21 days before hiring them.
