The Comal Independent School District board of trustees adopted an overall 2026 tax rate of $1. 0748 during a regular meeting on Thursday afternoon, maintaining the same tax rate from 2025.

CISD's overall adopted rate is made up of a $0. 7248 M&O rate and a $0. 35 I&S rate.

Trustee Tim Hennessee highlighted that he thinks the district's $0. 35 I&S rate is one example that shows the district is cognizant of the dollars it gets and how it spends them.
