Remains of Houston-area teen missing since 2020 identified through advanced DNA testing

The remains of Kristen Galvan, a Houston-area teen who went missing in January 2020 after being trafficked, have been identified through advanced DNA testing by the Texas Attorney General's Cold Case and Missing Persons Unit.

SPRING, Texas (KBTX) - Attorney General Ken Paxton's Cold Case and Missing Persons Unit has identified the remains of Kristen Galvan, a Houston-area teen who went missing in January 2020 after she was a victim of human trafficking.

She was 15 at the time of her disappearance.

In November 2022, the Office of the Attorney General's Cold Case and Missing Persons Unit received a request for assistance from the Missouri City Police Department regarding unidentified human remains recovered Jan. 29, 2020.
