ARP, Texas (KLTV) - Dallas Cowboys linebacker DeMarvion Overshown hosted his fourth annual back-to-school giveaway Saturday at Arp City Park, distributing backpacks and gift bags to children in the community ahead of the new school year.

Kids also had the opportunity to take photos and get autographs from the Arp native.'This is what you're supposed to do when you make it'Overshown said the event holds personal significance for him, noting he played at the same park as a child."Oh, it means the world," Overshown said.

"Just to see the smiling faces of my community and then seeing people interact with each other before the school year, it's what it's all about. It just shows that, you know, this is possible. This is what you're supposed to do when you make it. Like, you're supposed to come back and show the kids your face and show them that this is possible for not only me, but for every kid that walks throughout this park."Event started with no sponsors in his rookie year.
