HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Investigators are looking into what caused an apparent shootout in the city's southside overnight, according to the Houston Police Department.

HPD said that officers arrived at the 1000 block of West Orem Road and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper torso area.

Officials said it appeared that he had been shot through the car.
