HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- As the Houston area grapples with back-to-back incidents involving teen gun violence, an update to a story from August has a 14-year-old facing a murder charge.

On Aug. 22, ABC13 reported the discovery of a teen's body with severe trauma inside a car.

Less than a week later, the Harris County Sheriff's Office updated the incident, saying that a male of approximately 18 years of age had suffered traumatic injuries, "believed to have been from a firearm." In the latest update in the case announced on Friday afternoon, Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said that the victim was identified as 17-year-old Tavian Soileau.
