MIDLAND, Texas (KOSA) - IDEA Public Schools has filed a lawsuit against Midland ISD, claiming the district improperly terminated its agreement to operate IDEA Travis and forced the charter school operator off the campus weeks before the start of the 2026-27 school year.
According to a complaint, the lawsuit names MISD, Superintendent Stephanie D. Howard and members of the district's Board of Trustees as defendants.
The agreement and terminationThe complaint says the agreement between IDEA and Midland ISD allowed IDEA to operate and lease the campus under a state-authorized charter arrangement known as "1882 Partnership".
