Principal Alan Rochkus says he is the "steward" of Notre Dame Catholic School, which has been educating Hill Country students for more than 100 years.

"NDCS is really owned by the Kerrville community," he says.

"They have entrusted me to be its steward. We teach 125 students from 3-year-old prekindergarten to eighth grade. We're a Catholic school connected with the Notre Dame parish in Kerrville and the Archdiocese of San Antonio, but we also accept non-Catholic children. "Our parents agree that we will educate the children in the Catholic faith and traditions, and we require our parents to volunteer time either in the school or in Notre Dame Catholic Church.
