The Brownwood Lady Lions came up short in their first District 6-4A volleyball match of the season Tuesday night, falling on the road in four sets to Mineral Wells, 25-20, 25-15, 10-25, 25-23.

Demayha Hooker's 10 kills served as a team-high for Brownwood, followed by eight from Ashantia Green, five each from Lexi Driskill and Kaydence Chandler, three from Camryn Gipson, two from Kimber McLean, and one from Adyn Lucas.

Driskill and Jordyn Brixey both finished with 17 assists while Abby Brasher was credited with one.
