TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - The Friends of the Tyler Public Library will host "Bottles and Books," a wine and whiskey tasting fundraiser, Saturday to celebrate National Book Lovers Day.

The event will take place from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on the patio at 12 Kitchen and Cocktails, located at the corner of Loop 323 and Broadway Avenue in Tyler.

Organizers aim to raise at least $3,000 to support the library's community programs, which include summer initiatives, children's playgroups and a new maker space featuring a "Skills Lab" with craft equipment."The city primarily provides the building itself and the salaries for our librarians, but all the programming and additional things... that's all provided through the Friends," said Kaylie Salinger, a board member for the organization.
