COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - The College Station Police Department said crews are working on a gas leak at a busy College Station intersection, prompting the evacuation of nearby apartments and forcing road closures.

Welsh Ave and Southwest Pkwy(Obed Villatoro)The leak was reported by police just before 1 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Southwest Pkwy and Welsh Ave. Police asked people to avoid the area and not to drive around barricades or first responder vehicles blocking the roads.

CSPD did not provide a possible timeline for the leak to be fixed.
