On Sept. 11, the Vintage Oaks Veterans Association held its annual commemorative stone ceremony honoring those who have served in the United States Armed Forces, dedicating more than 20 new stones to the Veterans Walk at Timber Ridge Park, located within the neighborhood.

"Every stone represents more than a name," Vintage Oaks Veterans Association Commemorative Stone Committee Chair Mike Mikell said.

"It represents a life, a story and someone who answered the call to serve our country." The Vintage Oaks Veterans Association includes residents of the neighborhood who are veterans, active duty members of the United States military, reservists or national guard members, along with their spouses or spousal survivors.
