KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) - Ceremonies commemorating the 25th anniversary of the September 11th attacks are taking place in communities across the country.

Killeen ISD held its 20th annual Freedom Walk, a ceremony to remember those who lost their lives that day and honor those who serve their country or their community.

Since 2006, Killeen ISD has taken time to remember the day that America watched as twin towers fell to terrorists claiming the lives of nearly 3,000 people."For many of us, September 11th is a memory. We remember where we were, watching the news, the uncertainty of that day, and the days that followed," said Dr. King Davis, superintendent of Killeen ISD.
