Ex-Dallas police officer Amber Guyger granted parole in Botham Jean murder

DALLAS, Texas (KWTX) - Amber Guyger, the former Dallas police officer convicted in the 2018 fatal shooting of Botham Jean in his own apartment, has been granted parole, officials confirmed to CBS Texas.
The decision from the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles comes exactly seven years after Guyger was found guilty of murder on Oct. 1, 2019.
Guyger was originally sentenced to 10 years in prison, but only served seven.
