EMORY, Texas (KLTV) - Former Rains County Justice of the Peace Robert Franklin has been charged with aggravated perjury, following alleged false statements he made while under oath in an official proceeding.

According to court records, Franklin said under oath that he had not participated in the purchase or sale of any property in court proceedings concerning Franklin's request to reduce his child-support obligation.

The affidavit lists multiple properties that Franklin allegedly participated in the purchase or sale of between June 20, 2025 and Jan. 12, 2026.
