A 1-year-old Shepherd mix named Smudge is known as the "class clown" at the Humane Society of the New Braunfels Area, because he never fails to make staff smile and laugh.

"Sometimes it's fast zoomies with a big, goofy expression on his face, and sometimes it is him sneaking himself way into spots that are way too small for him, almost like he's part cat," Director of Community Engagement Zac Turley said.

"He always has a way of brightening everyone's day." Smudge was found as a stray in New Braunfels around mid-July and had a leg injury causing him to have a limp.
