COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - While hockey may not be the first sport many think of as being popular in the Brazos Valley, there are many groups who play, including Texas A&M's club hockey team."Yeah, it's definitely a small little community. It's always fun to hear the new guys that are coming in to play for our team who are from the same area. You're always two people away from that person," said Cade Willis, a senior on the Texas A&M club hockey team.

As many players will say, hockey equipment is not cheap."I mean, top-of-the-line skates these days will cost you north of $1,000, and hockey sticks these days are above $300," said Willis.

According to Hockey Skates Database, which tracks the prices of skates from 2016 to now, the cheapest skates in 2016 cost $70.
