WACO, Texas (KWTX) - A birthday cake may seem like a small detail, but for a child living in a shelter, it can mean the world.

For more than a year, one Waco baker has been making sure local children do not miss out on their special days.

Veronica Garcia, owner of Babes Cakes, has been quietly donating birthday cakes and treats to children and families staying in area shelters."They deserve to celebrate their birthday," Garcia said.
