COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - First responders and community members gathered Saturday morning for a 5K fundraiser supporting a College Station firefighter recently diagnosed with stage 3 cancer."It's a risk that we all face. Those of us who have been doing this for a long time probably just don't know it yet," said Richard Mann, the College Station Fire Chief.

Grayson Brock has been with the College Station Fire Department for 3 years.

A few weeks ago, he says he started experiencing pains that grew to the point he could no longer work."I've been here for 27 years. That's never, that's never happened before. Honestly, it was a shock," said Jason Giles, the Battalion Chief for the College Station Fire Department."At the end of the day, it felt a little bit like letting people down just because I mean, I love my job," said Brock.
