Texas Agriculture Commissioner activates relief funds as the Ross Wildfire burns 80,000 acres across Palo Pinto and Jack Counties, threatening farms, ranches and livestock operations.

PALO PINTO, Texas (KCBD) - Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller activated the State of Texas Agriculture Relief (STAR) Fund and the Texas Department of Agriculture's Hay and Feed Hotline Wednesday as the Ross Wildfire threatens farms, ranches and livestock operations across Palo Pinto and Jack Counties.

Fire has burned 80,000 acresAs of Wednesday morning, Aug. 26, the wildfire had burned approximately 80,000 acres and was 12% contained.

Officials said conditions remain dangerous and can change rapidly.
